Cables
We have made use of steel cables on many of our projects due to their structural and visual qualities.
Cables come in different sizes, material properties, and finishes, allowing them to serve many functions. On Bow River Pedestrian Bridge, long cables were used for the guardrail system to create a minimal but appealing aesthetic.
On several projects, we have used cables running through castings as bottom chords on trusses, such as in Yates Atrium. Another prime example is Tsingtao Visitor Centre, where a dual cable system ran through small castings on the ends of the struts, simply addressing what can be a complex detail.
