StructureCraft Plant Recognized for Structural Awards 2018
Every year, The Institute of Structural Engineers, based in London UK, recognizes the finest example of excellence in structural engineering design, across twelve principal awards categories, from around the world. This year, a diverse range of structures, from beautifully crafted sports stadia to elegant long-span bridges and office buildings were recognized, including StructureCraft's's new 50,000 sqft timber plant.
Thank you to the judges from The Institute of Structural Engineers for awarding StructureCraft THE AWARD FOR Outstanding Value and congratulations to all the recipients.

Judge's comment:
The plant, at 4,800m², is a large factory and office structure where timber units are to be fabricated. It was important to ensure that the environment for the employees was warm and welcoming. The structure was made from pre-fabricated timber panels, and the value of using this material was clear - in the tight tolerances achieved, the quality of the manufacture and the integration of architecture and services. The entire shop building was built in a very impressive five days, and to a very tight budget. The judges thought that the different forms of timber used in its construction were a creative use of the material and particularly enjoyed the idea that an all timber building would be used to make timber for other structures. It’s unusual to see a factory constructed fully from this sustainable and locally sourced material.
About StructureCraft's New Facility
The all wood prefabricated industrial building was erected in five days and featured stepped glulam belly beams and a timber diaphragm spanning 100m. The new facility, a model of engineering efficiency, sets a new standard in industrial building design with wood. The new plant is the manufacturing centre for our Dowel Laminated Timber mass timber product. StructureCraft's two story mass timber office building wraps around a corner of the plant, and houses our staff, including project managers, structural engineers and 3D designers.
