A 60,000 Sqft Facility Including a Consulting Office and Manufacturing Plant
We lead all consulting and construction operations out of our 60,000sqft facility in Abbotsford, British Columbia, an hour outside of Vancouver. This headquarters, a model of engineering efficiency, sets a new standard in office and industrial building design with wood.
Our 10,000 sqft consulting office, located directly next to our manufacturing/research plant, directs all North American and international projects, both in the consulting phase and throughout construction. The office hosts our Business Development, Engineering & Drafting, Finance, and Project Management departments. Operating in unison with these departments, our 50,000 sqft plant manufactures Dowel Laminated Timber, North America's first all-wood mass timber product, as well as a variety of specialty timber structures. Our site installation teams are directed out of this plant.
The prefabricated wall and roof panels for our plant were designed with a variety of mass timber and engineered wood products, including DLT, LSL, NLT, and Glulam. To demonstrate the flexibility of mass wood in industrial buildings, StructureCraft designed the entire building as a demountable structure, providing flexibility to expand or move the facility entirely to a new location.
We believe there's a more efficient and effective way to construct the industrial buildings of the future using this method.
The new facility was designed to explore what could be possible using wood for a simple industrial building with a tight budget. That exploration, while not simple during the design phase, has created a prototype which proves that modern industrial buildings may be created cost-effectively, and attractively, using wood.
The erection of the timber superstructure commenced on a Monday, and our crew had the entire building installed by that same Friday.
In just one week, all four walls and a 40,000sqft roof were installed.
In 2022, we expanded our manufacturing & research facility by 10,000 sqft, allowing for more efficient production of DLT and other unique timber products.
