Overview
Arclodge is a new all-season clubhouse at Powder Mountain, shaped by two sweeping roof forms that echo the arcs skiers trace through fresh snow. Designed by Hart Howerton with interiors by Champalimaud, the 73,000-square-foot members' lodge brings dining, wellness, recreation and social spaces together at the heart of Powder Haven. Its exposed timber roof gives that broad program a common architectural language, moving from intimate rooms to larger gathering spaces without losing the warmth of the structure overhead.
A roof that carries the idea
StructureCraft's mass timber package covers approximately 55,100 square feet across the north and south wings. Douglas-fir glulam columns, beams and purlins support a dowel-laminated timber roof, while hybrid king-post trusses span the larger rooms. About 20,600 square feet of interior roof uses acoustic-profile DLT, allowing the exposed deck to act as structure, finished ceiling and acoustic surface. The repeated timber members give the curving roof a clear rhythm from inside and out.
Engineering the curves
StructureCraft is responsible for delegated design of the hybrid trusses, glulam and DLT connections, roof diaphragm and internal reinforcing, as well as erection engineering and temporary stability. The hybrid trusses pair glulam top chords with galvanized steel rods, king posts and webs. Close coordination with Hart Howerton established the truss geometry and connection expression so that the structural system supports the lodge's architectural sweep rather than interrupting it.
Built for the mountain
Fabrication and delivery planning respond directly to the high-mountain site. A 48-foot trailer limit governs member lengths and loading, connections are preassembled where practical, and the DLT panels receive a shop-applied temporary weather membrane. StructureCraft is carrying the package through BIM coordination, detailing, fabrication and supply, with site supervision supporting assembly. The project is under construction, with StructureCraft's package in fabrication as of October 2026; Powder Haven currently plans to open Arclodge in 2028.
