Lakeview Office Building
Mass Timber Office in Washington State
This two-storey building is in a prominent location alongside the East side of Lake Washington in Kirkland.
It is the most recent large-scale mass timber building constructed in the Seattle area, using DLT floor and roof panels supported by a Douglas Fir Glulam post and beam frame. The lateral load resisting system for the building is a concrete core which was completed prior to commencement of the mass timber install.
The use of DLT reduces the project’s embodied carbon by replacing steel or concrete.
The prefabricated DLT panels further shortens construction duration with an estimated mass timber installation duration of six weeks or less.
