Galloping Goose Overpass

Our 2nd-place competition entry for the new Galloping Goose Trail Overpass in the City of Colwood, BC sought to present an iconic but cost-effective pedestrian crossing for this historic trail network.

To meet the City’s objectives for the overpass, one of our options was a parabolic arch. This scheme features a deck suspended from the arch, elegantly spanning approximately 40m over the highway. Shaped glulam beams form the arches, reaching 15m above the deck to create an iconic entrance to the City.
