A New Community Hub for Nashville

T3 Wedgewood-Houston, the flagship of “The Finery" development, embodies the dynamic spirit of Nashville's Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood, known for its artistic, social, and entrepreneurial heritage. Designed as a mixed-use hub, the development integrates public plazas, courtyards, and retail throughout its creative office spaces. The architecture integrates the neighborhood's industrial legacy through a bronze anodized aluminum façade and nods to the site’s history through features like a salvaged welding arm displayed at street level. This T3 office has established itself as a centerpiece for the local community and an anchor for creative professionals.

Structure

The T3 Wedgewood-Houston project features a seven-story, 200,000-square-foot office building. The upper five floors utilize glulam post-and-beam framing supporting dowel-laminated timber floor and roof panels. Laterally, the building is supported by exterior steel bracing.

Extensive vibration studies were undertaken by our engineers to ensure the DLT floor panels met the required serviceability standards for office spaces, particularly in areas with longer spans. The structural grid is designed to capitalize on the inherent one-axis spanning capacity of dowel-laminated timber, with spans ranging from 20’ to 25’. Beneath the timber levels, a concrete podium houses a 200-space parking garage.

StructureCraft is honoured to have joined the project team as engineer and builder for the mass timber superstructure on another T3, following Minneapolis, Atlanta, and Toronto. We are now working on the next T3 office in Fort Lauderdale.
