A Quick Installation for the Victoria bike shelter

By Ryan Bath,
EIT

When first contacted by the City of Victoria, we were eager to deliver a structure that would set the tone for future developments of the city. With several performance criteria to meet, our team brainstormed a solution that would be quickly installed and feature a simple, yet elegant form to meet the need of our clients.

As a dynamic structure this bike shelter was designed with a quick install on site, it was erected in 40 minutes from truck bed to a secured structure.

The pinned top connections of this structure allowed for shipment as one piece that could fold open at the time of install. Additionally, this structure features identical geometry for both the posts and the beams, which further enhanced the economy of the shelter.

It is always an exciting time working on these unique structures, delivered in a compressed schedule to meet our clients deadlines.
