Cubes Comox Apartments

These two mixed-use buildings utilize DowelLam DLT in a special way: although the walls are light wood frame, the apartment roof and floor slabs (some spanning up to 17’) are DowelLam DLT. The 6”-deep DLT panels are Spruce-Pine-Fir species and are all exposed to view on the underside to provide a beautiful wood ceiling in the 60 apartment suites. We shop-fabricated 50,000 sqft of DLT for the slabs as well as an additional 2,000 sqft for the elevator/stair shaft walls, all of which supplied to site as a “kit of parts” ready for the general contractor to install.
