Ambleside Galleria Canopy

In close collaboration with the architect, StructureCraft engineered and built this hybrid timber canopy structure at the Grosvenor Ambleside development in West Vancouver, BC. This canopy spans between the two new residential buildings, providing a cover for residents and visitors walking through the Galleria. Our scope includes the 22 timber-and-steel trusses (prefabricated in our shop with glulam top chords, painted steel kingposts and stainless steel cables), painted steel supports (one side fixed, the other sliding) and the glazing package (consisting of parallelogram lites of laminated tempered frit glass on painted steel purlins). Since this is an outdoor structure, all elements are designed, detailed and coated appropriately to withstand the elements.
