The Sustainable Condo timber structure was designed and built in two months, in time for the GLOBE 2004 conference on sustainable development in Vancouver BC. Its purpose was to illustrate the advantages of wood to reach Green Building goals.
The 960 square foot structure houses a state-of-the-art condominium display suite and consists of 10 timber frames carrying 30 pre-assembled floor panels. The frame components are shaped from Timberstrand billets and are fastened together with custom connections designed to enable the entire structure to be disassembled and transported easily. StructureCraft also installed the Ductal concrete ramps and finely detailed guardrails.
