This 17,000 square foot timber structure encloses the new retail building at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal near Vancouver, BC. Compostie timber trusses span up to 60 feet carrying 10 foot wide pre-assembled roof panels, complete with acoustic steel roof decking. The trusses are king-posted with galvanized steel cable and custom-designed kingpost castings. All timber is appearance grade Douglas Fir glulam. Elliptically shaped glulam columns capped with aluminum castings vary in height to accommodate the gentle warp in the roof desired by the architect.
